The £3 million wedding of Holly Valance and millionaire Nick Candy, which was held in Los Angeles this weekend, attracted a lot of attention. The bride’s dress, though considered unattractive by many, cost more than £35,000. The 39-year-old groom hired singer Katy Perry for £1.2 million and paid £60,000 for all the fresh flowers used on the big day. The wedding festival lasted 4 days, during which mountains of sushi and canapés were served, and two barbecues and two pre-parties were held.

The event gave several prominent British citizens a chance to travel to Los Angeles, keeping wedding chauffeur hire companies, travel companies, food and hospitality companies, and car rental companies very busy. The wedding guests were a mixture of the elite sections of British society and English socialites who are willing to travel anywhere for free. Among the 300 guests who received a special invitation to the event were Nancy Dell’Olio, Bruno Tonioli, Tracey Emin, and Philip Treacy.

One of the most honored guests of the wedding was Simon Cowell, who refused to accept any wedding chauffeur service and arrived in his private Rolls Royce. Among the other important guests were Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice and Sarah Ferguson, their mother.
The guests who received a £300 invitation had to pay their own flight tickets. They were asked to receive accommodation in Beverly Hills Hotel, but had to pay their own food and accommodation bills.
The wedding festival began on Thursday with Candy hosting a party at Soho House in Los Angeles, a romantic place where food was served in a charming terrace garden with large lanterns hanging from the branches of olive trees.

On Friday, a grand welcome party was held at Paramount Studios, with the Jersey Boys performing. Holly and her family members and friends were screened with “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” playing in the background.
Guests kept gossiping about why the wedding took place in Los Angeles while the couple is British citizens who live in London. The air is thick with rumors that Holly is ambitious and desirous of a Hollywood career.

On the other hand, businessman Nick Candy wants to expand in the US.
Nick, along with his brother, converted a loan of £6,000 given to them by their grand mother into property worth billions of dollars within just 10 years. Today, Nick is worth £155 million, has his own pets, and lives in a large apartment in One Hyde Park. Nick got engaged to Holly in December while vacationing in Reethi Rah Resort, Maldives. Nick requested the resort staff to write the words “Will You Marry Me?” in fire on the beach and presented an expensive diamond ring to Holly while proposing to her.
Holly and Nick had asked their guests not to give gifts, but donate directly to Alzheimer’s Research or Disability Rights International. They were also requested not to bring their cameras to the wedding venue, which made the guests feel that the couple did not want their photographs to be published.
